Valladolid Q&A for European Passports
The EX-18 at Calle Gerona, Erasmus stays, pensions, the padrón and what the green certificate is: answers for Europeans living in Valladolid and its province.
I am Belgian and start a job in Valladolid next month. What do I need?
For the employer, a NIE and a Social Security number. And because you will be living here beyond three months, registration on the EX-18, with the contract as your proof; policia.es lists Europeans’ registration at C/ Gerona s/n.
Certificado de registro UE in Valladolid: which counter?
The brigade for foreigners at C/ Gerona s/n, 47013 (983 456 553), which policia.es shows under “régimen comunitario”. The Oficina de Extranjería on Arzobispo José Delicado does not issue it, and neither does the police station in Medina del Campo.
I am on Erasmus for the full academic year. Which category do I choose?
Student, with your enrolment, your health insurance and a signed declaration of sufficient resources.
We are retired and live on our pensions. Can we register?
Yes, in the category for people with sufficient means and health cover. Pension statements and your insurance, public or private, make up the evidence.
Does the green certificate prove who I am?
Not by itself: with no photograph on it, it goes with your passport or national ID card.
Which comes first, the padrón or the certificate?
In the city of Valladolid, usually the certificate: the Ayuntamiento’s list of papers asks Europeans for the green certificate together with a passport or ID card. Other towns of the province keep their own padrón and set their own list.
